On Tuesday, the social media platform started the official roll out of the feature, it announced in a post on micro blogging site Twitter on Tuesday night. The feature is being rolled out everywhere, it added.

The feature allows users to pin any three comments to the top of the thread of comments on a post. This can set the tone of the comments as positive. Moreover, the rest of the comments which are negative or abusive can be moderated.

Pinning an Instagram comment is simple. Swipe the comment that you want to pin to the left. The options available to manage the comments include deleting the comment, reporting the comment as well as replying to a comment. Now, the left-most icon in these options, which will now be four in number, is a pushpin icon, clicking on which will pin the comment at the top.

NEW DELHI: Facebook-ownedInstagramhas announced that it has officially started rolling out the pinned comments feature for everyone. The company started testing the feature in May this year. The company believes that this feature will encourage positive interactions with the platform.
In an official post, Instagram said, “This feature gives people a way to set the tone for their account and engage with their community by pinning a select number of comments to the top of their comments thread.”
The company took to Twitter to announce the roll-out of the feature. Instagram tweeted, “Today we’re rolling out pinned comments everywhere. That means you can pin a few comments to the top of your feed post and better manage the conversation.”
Using this feature, users will be able to pin three comments on a post to the top of the thread. This new feature will enable the author of the post to control the tone of the comments and also keep the negative and abusive responses at the bottom.
In order to pin a comment users just have to swipe left and reveal the options for reporting, deleting, and repaying. Now you will notice a pushpin icon placed on the far left of these options which will enable you to pin the comments.
