The newly launched People Cards feature will be available to users across India on their mobile phones in English.
Google on Tuesday rolled out a new feature on Search that enables users to make their virtual visiting cards on the platform. The newly launched feature called ‘People Cards’ is aimed at helping people build their online presence and discover others.
The People Cards feature will enable users to create a virtual visiting card on Search, highlighting their existing website or social profiles, and complementing it with information about themselves they would like others to know. Google says that the new feature is aimed at helping the millions of individuals, influencers, entrepreneurs, prospective employees, self-employed people, freelancers, or anyone else out there who wants to be discovered and help the world find them.
As is the case with any feature, Google has placed some checks and balances to ensure that the information that users provide is reliable and authentic and that people who use this feature are protected against abusive and offensive content. Firstly, the company is limiting one People Card per Google account. Next, every new card will be authenticated with a unique mobile number.
